In 2013 we welcomed home our flock of Certified Organic and registered Icelandic sheep. We are now offering raw fleeces, lopi yarns, rovings, sheepskins, and Certified Organic Icelandic lamb for sale.
Icelandic sheep are a triple-purpose breed: they are known for their fine-grained, tender, and mild flavoured meat, for their high milk production, and for their dual coated wool. But what attracted us to Icelandics is some of their other traits: they are a very hardy breed, excellent mothers, milky, prolific lambers, fast to mature, and the lambs grow to a good size by the end of their first grazing season.
Our starter flock is purchased from Kind Horn Farm, a Certified Organic farm in Vermont, featuring the very best in AI genetics. We are very pleased to be able to bring some of these top-notch genetics into Canada. We are also very pleased to have added a ram from Le Biscornu, one of the foremost breeders of Icelandic sheep in North America.
We offer a very limited number of lambs for sale as breeding stock each year. If you are interested in ewe or ram lambs, please get in touch.
